Tama-Toledo Christian School is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and Christ-centered Paraeducator to support classroom instruction and contribute to a nurturing, faith-filled learning environment. This individual will work alongside classroom teachers to assist in meeting the spiritual, academic, behavioral, and developmental needs of our students.

Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated by the Administrator in accordance with this job
description and board-defined policy. Evaluation will be based on:
Instructional support effectiveness
Student engagement and support
Spiritual leadership and modeling
Adherence to school mission, values, and statement of faith
Qualifications:
Education
Associate’s degree or equivalent required (Bachelor’s preferred)
Paraprofessional certification (if required by state law)
Spiritual Requirements
Personal commitment to Jesus Christ
Agreement with the school’s statement of faith
Active participation in a local church

Job Description
The Paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher in providing a Christ-centered
learning environment that nurtures students’ academic, spiritual, emotional, and social
growth.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Instructional Support
Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and activities
Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning
Help adapt instructional materials to meet diverse student needs
Support students with assignments, projects, and skill development
2. Spiritual Development
Model Christ-like behavior in attitude, speech, and actions
Support prayer, devotions, and biblical integration in the classroom
Encourage students in spiritual growth and Christ-centered character
3. Classroom Management
Help maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment
Assist with behavior management consistent with Christian principles
Promote responsibility, kindness, and integrity among students
4. Student Support
Build positive relationships with students
Provide additional help to students with academic or behavioral needs
Assist in monitoring student progress and engagement
Communicate observations to the teacher
5. School Involvement
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required
Support school events, chapel, and activities
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success

6. Administrative & Clerical Support
Assist with classroom organization and preparation of materials
Help maintain records (attendance, assignments, etc.) as directed
Supervise students during non-instructional times (recess, lunch, transitions)
Will follow all school policies, procedures, and the administrator or Board
instructions

About the School
The Tama-Toledo Christian School is an accredited K-9 independent, non-denominational Christian school. We have received accreditation to add 9th grade for the 2026-27 school year. TTCS is here to serve the entire Christian community in the area. TTCS is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation governed by a Board of Directors.
TTCS is located at 600 Oswego Street in Tama, Iowa in Tama County. The former church has undergone a major renovation, preserving some unique features, while adding a second level. It will have the capacity to enroll 164 students.
